About the Summer Internship Program

Our Summer Internship Program has been carefully designed and structured to help you make the most of the experience, including:

Phase 1 – Introduction

Complete orientation, meet your leader and team, learn more about nbn, and be introduced to what you’ll be working on during the program.

Phase 2 – Growth

Shadow subject matter experts, technical leaders, and learn some of the software we use at nbn. Work autonomously on assigned projects that focus on delivering value to our customers.

Phase 3 – Maturity

Apply what you’ve been learning both outside and inside nbn to solve real, complex problems. Lean on mentors, buddies and leaders to ask questions you may have.

Phase 4 – Expertise

Present what you’ve worked on to your leader and team for feedback. Hand over any continuing tasks for your team to keep driving forward.

Recruitment Process

Interested in becoming an nbn® intern? Here’s what you can expect from our selection process:

You’ll need your resume and most recent academic transcript (or Statement of Results) ready to upload.

Next, we’ll ask selected applicants to complete three online assessments. Quick, 45-minute tasks that can be done from home, they tell us more about you, how you think and how you problem solve.

From there, a successful online assessment turns into a digital interview. Tell us more about yourself and why you want to intern at nbn by answering a series of short, pre-recorded questions using the front-facing camera on your mobile or computer.

We send email invites with a 72-hour deadline – if you miss it, please contact us.

For those who make it this far, a virtual interview is up next. We’ll invite you to meet with nbn business leaders where you can share more about your experience and why you’re interested in interning at nbn.

Get ready for your interview with help from the 'STAR' technique and our other tips.

Before we offer successful applicants a place in our Summer Internship Program, we complete a background check. This may include:

  • A 100-point identification check
  • Visa Entitlement Verification Online (VEVO) and eligibility to work confirmation
  • Anti-money laundering checks
  • Employment verification
  • National criminal record check
  • Reference checks

All clear? We’ll offer you a place in the program, with our Internships Manager staying in touch to make sure you have everything you need to get started in November 2025.

Keep checking your registered email address to stay up to date with your application’s process. We’ll let you know if you’re unsuccessful at any stage.
