Recruitment Process

Our recruitment experience for nbn’s Graduate Program is all about connecting with you and seeing what makes you unique. We aim to spot your talent, match it to the best role, and understand your strengths.

Interested? Here’s what you can expect from our selection process:

If the nbn Graduate Program is calling your name, hit that apply button. Make sure you've got your resume and academic transcript (or Statement of Results) ready to upload. Pick the career pathway that speaks to you – it's crucial to check out all the options before diving in.

If your application is successful, you'll be asked to tackle three online assessments. These are quick, 45-minute tasks you can do from home. We get to see how you solve problems and think on your feet, while you gain insights into what makes you shine.

A successful online assessment leads to a digital interview. You’ll be asked a series of short, pre-recorded questions and will need to respond to the frontward-facing camera on your computer or mobile.

It’s your opportunity to showcase yourself, including why you’re interested in joining nbn, and about your skills and experience.

You'll receive an email invite with instructions and a 72-hour deadline – be sure to monitor your emails. (If you miss the deadline, please reach out to us at recruitment@nbnco.com.au)

If you've made it this far, you'll now be invited to take part in a virtual interview with nbn business leaders. It's your opportunity to shine and talk about your experience, motivations and anything else that's on your mind.

To help with your interview, learn the 'STAR' technique and check out our other tips.

After you’ve aced your interview, it’s time for background checks. This may include a 100-point identification check, Visa Entitlement Verification Online (VEVO) and eligibility to work confirmation, Anti Money Laundering checks, employment verification, national criminal record check, and reference checks.

Once you’ve cleared the background checks, we’ll offer you a place in nbn’s Graduate Program. To make sure you’re all set to get started, our Graduate Program Manager will stay in touch with you until the program kicks off in February.

To make sure you’re always aware of your application’s progress, please check your registered email address regularly and update your online profile if you move address. We will let you know if, at any stage, your application is unsuccessful. We also recommend keeping an eye on our nbn careers page for other opportunities of interest.

If you successfully score a place in our Graduate Program, we’ll work with you on how rotations within your pathway will contribute to your career goals and passions, ensuring they remain aligned.
