About Customer and Network Services (CNS)

We work in partnership with our phone and internet providers to deliver a brilliant customer experience, more speed and reliability to new and existing customers. We’re responsible for activating, operating and assuring nbn’s network and services.



What’s in it for you?

You’ll complete three enriching rotations within CNS, each offering unique skill-building opportunities that pave the way for a vibrant and successful career. Rotation teams include Network Operations, Service Delivery Operations, Service Management and Customer Resolution, Improvement and Transformation, or Governance and Retail Service Provider Operations. You’ll also complete one rotation outside of CNS in another nbn team of your choice.

We collaborate with you to place you in areas that fuel your passion and align with your professional growth objectives.

Positions are available in our Melbourne (Docklands) and Sydney (North Sydney) offices.



What we look for in a graduate

We’re seeking graduates passionate about collaboration and innovation. You excel in teamwork and have developed automation skills to enhance and optimise processes. Advanced analytical abilities mean you can interpret data effectively and drive informed decision-making. With a keen interest in network operations and incident management, you’re driven to innovate and improve.

Successful candidates will likely have a degree/major in: Business Management, Network Operations, Network Engineering, Automation, Data Analytics, Data Science, Incident Management, or AI and Machine Learning – but there are no restrictions.

Our program is designed to build the foundations that will help you transition into Associate roles within CNS after completing the program.


About Field Services

Our team ensures the seamless connection, assurance and maintenance of networks and customer services through a combination of internal workforce and delivery partners. We also plan supply requirements and implement strategic programs to ensure safety, quality and efficiency. Plus, we leverage intelligence and analytics to drive continuous improvement and enhance engagement through people-focused initiatives and effective business management.




What’s in it for you?

You’ll gain valuable experience through four targeted rotations within Field Services, each designed to build essential skills. These include opportunities in our Region Operations, Control Tower, Technical Capability, Improve and Transform, and Partnerships teams.

In the end, you’ll have real-life experience in planning, scheduling, dispatching, improving and transforming the business while delivering first-class service to our customers.

We offer permanent, full-time positions based in our Adelaide, Brisbane (Cannon Hill), Hobart, Melbourne (Docklands), Sydney (North Sydney) and Perth offices.



What we look for in a graduate

We’re looking for thinkers prepared to be involved in and perform hands-on work occasionally in the field. You should have a passion for solving complex problems and enjoy seeing your work in action through practical application in a field technology environment.

We’d love to hear from those who can relate to the technical work performed and have experience working directly with customers.

You should have a degree in one of the following disciplines: Telecommunications Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Networks Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering (only if a double degree with Telecommunications or Electrical), or Civil Engineering.

Our program is designed to build the foundations that will help you transition into Associate roles within Field Services.


About Infrastructure Planning and Delivery (IP&D)

We’re responsible for safely and efficiently planning, designing, delivering and improving nbn infrastructure to support customer retention and growth.

Our team’s dedicated to delivering fibre networks that meet cost, time and quality expectations. We innovate and adapt to customer needs in new developments and business markets, maximising cash flow through proactive changes to end-to-end processes, and engage in strategic planning and commercial investment decisions.

We’re also accountable for delivering on nbn’s commitment to an upgrade path for 622,000 remaining homes and businesses currently on Fibre to the Node, a major program of work scheduled out to 2030 that will further lift digital capability in these parts of Australia.



What's in it for you?

You’ll rotate across four critical functions within the IP&D stream, each designed to build your expertise and technical skillset. The rotations will give you exposure to:

  • Network Planning: You’ll work on strategic network development and planning processes, contributing to large-scale project rollouts and network optimisation.
  • Technology Solutions: Delve into the latest advancements in technology, collaborating on transformative solutions that drive network innovation and performance.
  • Network Design and Planning Delivery: Participate in the design and execution of detailed network architecture and planning to ensure scalable and reliable network solutions.

You’ll be exposed to large-scale, transformational projects, leveraging the latest Artificial Intelligence (AI) and data. We’re looking for recent graduates passionate about technology and network engineering. If you're enthusiastic about shaping the future of network systems and infrastructure, and are eager to gain exposure to high-impact projects digitally transforming Australia, we want to hear from you.

We develop and implement nbn’s brand and marketing strategy. Our team builds a strong and compelling brand proposition, establishing effective digital channels, and executing efficient and impactful marketing campaigns for customers and partners.

About Products and Pricing

Our team has accountability for the products offered by nbn to phone and internet providers, their pricing and positioning in market, as well as developing and enhancing the products with nbn’s roadmap. This covers residential and business markets, the program to upgrade our networks to fibre, and our programs to improve the tools and support for phone and internet providers.

You'll gain valuable experience through four targeted rotations:

  • Go-to-Market and Value Proposition: Learn how we position our products in the market.
  • Sales: Discover how we collaborate with phone and internet providers to drive product uptake.
  • Products: Understand the intricacies of designing and managing products.

You'll play a key role in developing the next generation of products and ensuring our pricing strategies align with market demands. About Sales

At nbn, we serve as a wholesale network provider, partnering with phone and internet providers. These phone and internet providers bring our products to market under their own brand, pricing and segmentation strategies. We actively support and engage with them to develop their fixed product strategies.

Our Sales team is dedicated to building industry partnerships and fostering a vibrant, commercially sustainable retail marketplace. We manage direct relationships with phone and internet providers across all streams of activity, including sales, network, marketing, operations and performance.



What's in it for you?

Embark on four dynamic rotations within the Sales function and related areas, each designed to build essential skills for a successful career. Your journey begins with the Account Management team, where you’ll focus on building relationships with a phone and internet providers, enabling their strategy using nbn products and resources, including network access, product launches and insights. Subsequent rotations will immerse you in Customer Insights, the Products and Pricing team, and Digital Marketing, providing you with a diverse skillset to excel in the vibrant Sales environment.

About Technology and Solutions (T&S)

We’re responsible for delivering the nbn® network technology innovation roadmap and network solutions, ensuring efficient and cost-effective network deployment.

Our team shapes the 10-year technical strategic direction, integrating network and product roadmaps, and developing end-to-end architecture and technology sequences. We design solution architectures for wireline access, core networks, network security and network management systems, and deliver network automation programs to boost efficiency and innovation.

We also engage in network modelling and forecasting to predict future demands and optimise resources. Our team collaborates with universities on research projects to incorporate cutting-edge advancements into our solutions.



What's in it for you?

Embark on four targeted rotations, each designed to build the technical skills and expertise needed for a successful career. Rotations one and four will be within our team, which could include Network and Software Systems Solutions, Network Traffic Modelling and Insights, Core Software Advanced Technologies, or Access Advanced Technology.

You’ll also rotate to our Network Engineering team, where you’ll gain hands-on experience in running a complex network, from managing capacity to performing network optimisation. A rotation will follow in the Value Propositions and Product Enablement team within our Customer function, where you’ll work on product development and related tasks, providing important context for the activities in T&S and Network Engineering.

You’ll gain real-life technical experience in planning, scheduling, dispatching, improving and transforming the business while delivering first-class service to our customers. You’ll also leverage machine learning and data science techniques to optimise processes, predict future trends and drive innovative solutions.
