The business nbn fibre initiative is helping to advance the digital capability of businesses across Australia. We’re investing to deliver on-request+ upgrades to business-grade fibre to more businesses than ever before. The initiative also includes the creation of business nbn fibre zones across Australia, including a presence in regional centres. Eligible businesses within these zones will benefit from wholesale pricing discounts, enabling regional areas to receive the same metro pricing that typically favoured capital city centres.
We deliver a range of offers for our wholesale product, Enterprise Ethernet. These include wholesale pricing discounts, and no up-front build costs for service providers for over 90% of business locations within the nbn network footprint*. Plus, if your provider signs up for a 3 year Enterprise Ethernet plan, there’s no up-front connection cost to your provider for standard installations*. For most locations in the nbn Fixed Line footprint, and providers will enjoy a Service Delivery Guarantee of 50 business days for Enterprise Ethernet orders◊. This provides end customers with much greater certainty on their upfront costs and connection times*.
In September 2020, nbn announced the creation of 240 business nbn fibre zones as part of our $700m investment in network development. Demonstrating our ongoing commitment to Australian businesses, nbn recently announced a new zones, bringing the total to 322. We will be continuing to add further business nbn fibre zones through our co-investment programs and ongoing work with other Government entities.
nbn may also announce further business nbn fibre zones in the future to help meet the demand around the country.
Through our co-investment program, nbn is assisting state and local governments to expand business nbn fibre zones into areas of growth and demand, which in turn will help to extend our business fibre further into the network. This will make Enterprise Ethernet more accessible to businesses across Australia. Speak to your nbn Local representative, or your local or state government representative for more information.
Regardless of the bandwidth profile for the service you acquire from your service provider, it will operate at less than 10Gbps (or, in some circumstances, less than 1Gbps, if that bandwidth profile is acquired) because of normal equipment and network limitations. In addition, your experience, including the speeds actually achieved over the nbn network, depends on some factors outside our control (like your equipment quality, software, and how your service provider designs its network). If your service provider has not selected Class of Service High, speeds you experience may be affected by contention on the nbn network, particularly in busy periods.
nbn is a wholesaler and does not control costs charged by service providers. Customers should contact their preferred provider to ask about availability and any fees and charges from their provider that may be applicable. These pricing offers, in particular no up-front build costs, are not available for most premises in the nbn Fixed Wireless or Satellite footprints or for most premises which have complex connections – further costs are likely to apply to these premises.
The 50 Business Days Service Delivery Guarantee is not available for Premises located in the nbn non-fixed line footprint. The 50 Business Days Service Delivery Guarantee is also unavailable at some Premises within the nbn Fixed Line footprint as identified by nbn.
Enterprise Ethernet eligibility is based on an nbn desktop analysis of available data. There may be a small number of premises where eligibility results will differ from those provided on the nbn website. You will need to confirm your location’s eligibility with your provider.
