Connecting to a plan powered by business nbn
The most important thing to remember is that nbn is a wholesaler. You need to talk to your service provider about connecting to a plan powered by business nbn.
How does nbn work with providers?
The wholesale services that nbn supplies to providers are composed of three things: a bandwidth or speed, a Traffic Class and a Service Level Agreement (SLA). Providers use these components and combine them with their own network services to create the nbn powered plans they provide to you.
The access technologies that make up the nbn Multi Technology Mix (MTM)
The nbn Multi-Technology Mix (MTM) is a combination of Fibre to the Premises (FTTP), Fibre to the Building (FTTB), Fibre to the Curb (FTTC), Fibre to the Node (FTTN), Hybrid Fibre Coaxial (HFC), Fixed Wireless and SkyMuster satellite. The technology you receive is dependent on what works in your area in terms of cost effectiveness and speed of delivery.
Knowledge and advice for business
nbn is working with a comprehensive network of business nbn accrediated advisers who can provide guidance on your journey as you look to digitise your business operation and connect to the nbn broadband access network.
What services are affected?
As most existing landline phone and internet services will be disconnected, it’s important you switch affected services before your disconnection date, even if you only use a landline phone,^ which will operate as Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) over the nbn access network. This includes Special Services which have different migration windows to ‘standard’ data services.#
The copper network within nbn Fixed Wireless and Sky Muster™ satellite areas will not be switched off.
