The Forge Pizzeria

Find out how technology supported by the nbn® broadband access network can help improve your business processes – just like The Forge Pizzeria in Ballarat.

The Forge Pizzeria was started by brothers Tim and Chris Matthews. A family run business, the restaurant was named after their grandfather who was a blacksmith, and grew from a humble two employees to over 90 within six years.

Today, they run two restaurants and a catering facility that can service over 300 people. The rapid growth of the business meant there was a strong need for online systems to help manage and keep things running smoothly – and that’s where being connected to the nbn™ access network came to the fore. With fingerprint logins and online timesheet management, Tim and Chris can keep track of what’s happening across all of their businesses from various locations.

Most importantly, thanks to technology supported by the nbn™ access network, they can now focus on their core business – having fun and making pizza! A true recipe for success.

Is your business growing like The Forge Pizzeria? Here’s what you need to consider.

Multiple phone lines

Whether you’re a pizzeria or a call centre, this applies to any business that needs more than one phone line.

Communication and data options

It’s important to talk to your service provider about your specific situation before considering the data and bandwidth packages available. If you need to keep mission critical applications up and running, you should ask for business grade products with dedicated data services.

Next level support

If you have business critical data needs, always be certain your provider has an enhanced Service Level Agreement (eSLA) in place with your bundle/package. This will ensure a timely restoration of your service in the event of it going down and impacting your business.

*
We’re designing the nbn™ broadband access network to provide these speeds to our wholesale customers and service providers. Your experience, including the speeds actually achieved over the nbn™ network, depends on the nbn™ access network technology and configuration over which services are delivered to your premises, whether you are using the internet during the busy period, and some factors outside our control (like your equipment quality, software, broadband plans, signal reception and how your service provider designs its network). Speeds may be impacted by network congestion on nbn’s Fixed Wireless network, including during busy periods. Satellite users may experience latency. nbn™ wholesale speed tiers available to your provider vary depending on the access technology in your area.
