Victorian Storms Update

26 November at 8:28am

  • Service has now been restored to all but nine premises following the recent storms with restoration of the remaining premises expected to be completed today.
  • As the restoration of the remaining cases is in train, this will be the final online update for this event.
  • If you have outstanding issues related to this event, please contact your phone and internet provider.
  • If your provider is unable to resolve the issue, we encourage you to reach out directly to us at vicstorms@nbnco.com.au
  • We'd like to thank the community for their patience as our crews worked to safely restore services.

  • Approximately 140 nbn™ services remain impacted in areas such as the Dandenongs and Mornington Peninsula. This includes some services impacted from the high winds passing through on Friday 12/11/21.
  • A number of the damaged services require specialist equipment to complete the repair works. Inclement weather in Victoria over the past week has meant it was not safe to operate this equipment, causing delays to restoration.
  • The improved weather conditions this week will enable work with the specialist equipment to resume.
  • We encourage you to check the status of your service at https://www.nbnco.com.au/support/network-status
  • If there is no outage displayed and you are still without service, please contact your phone and internet service provider. The provider will raise a case allowing us to identify the cause and work to restore the service safely and as quickly as possible.
  • If you have concerns, which your phone and internet provider cannot resolve, we encourage you to reach out directly to us at vicstorms@nbnco.com.au

Severe weather impacting parts of Victoria overnight and this morning (29 October 2021) - and the resulting power outages impacting an estimated 300,000 premises - has left approximately 125,000 nbn™ services offline.

We have established an Emergency Management Team to respond to the situation and are currently assessing the impacted areas, and where safe, will assess any potential damage to the network to plan restoration.

We are in the planning phase to deploy a number of generators to sites, to restore services where there is a loss of power.

Some of our infrastructure assets in parts of Victoria are also without power and are currently running on battery back-up.

We advise customers that nbn™ services to individual premises are likely to be affected by power outages.
