Ellie Sweeney appointed Chief Executive Officer of NBN Co
The Board of NBN Co today announced the appointment of Ms Ellie Sweeney as its new Chief Executive Officer (CEO).
Ms Sweeney will lead the company that is building, operating and upgrading the national broadband network. It is a pivotal time for nbn as it continues to lift the digital capability of Australia through significant network investments that are driving social and economic benefits for the nation.
Ms Sweeney will join the company from Vocus, where she has served as both CEO and Chief Operating Officer.
The NBN Co Board engaged an executive search firm to undertake an extensive search and Chair Kate McKenzie congratulated Ms Sweeney on her appointment.

Ms Sweeney said she felt very honoured to take on the role as CEO and was inspired by a genuine passion for the company's purpose of lifting the digital capability of Australia.

Ms Sweeney's commencement date will be in early December 2024.
