Welcome to the Business NBN Enterprise Ethernet installation video. Thank you for choosing Business NBN to power your business needs. Once your service provider has placed your order, there are a few steps to complete before your connection is ready to ensure a seamless installation process.

It's important that your details are correct.

Your main point of contact throughout will be your service provider, and you'll also work with an NBN-approved construction partner to complete your connection.

The equipment that will be installed includes Business NBN network termination devices, which enable your provider to connect your property to the NBN network. The type of device, either standard or high-speed version, will be determined by your service provider to suit your business and connection needs. The Business NBN network termination device is also known as an NBN connection box. Your service provider will work with you or your head office to discuss equipment placement and any special requirements, and they'll confirm your order details such as address and key contacts.

Step 1: Connecting with your NBN-approved construction partner

An NBN-approved construction partner will contact you to coordinate your site survey appointment and installation needs. Check with the construction partner that all order details are correct, including your business name and full address. A site contact must be available to meet the construction partner and must be authorized to approve the location and installation of the NBN-supplied equipment. This is also a good time to confirm any additional access requirements, such as induction processes or COVID measures.

Step 2: Site preparation for installation

Construction activities may be needed in common areas of your building, which should be discussed with your building manager as they could disrupt operations. Make sure the communications room or area is accessible and free of clutter. The room needs adequate space for the NBN equipment, which will be wall or rack mounted. The construction partner will confirm the best solution during the site survey.

For wall mounts, the chosen wall must be flat and suitable for attaching the equipment, and must meet NBN health, safety, and engineering standards. For rack installations, the customer must supply the rack, and the area must meet minimum and maximum measurements for placement, clearance, and ventilation. Both devices require a standard 240-volt general power outlet within one meter of the allocated space, dedicated for NBN use. If power is not available, advise your construction partner so you can arrange installation by a registered cabler or electrician.

Before connection day, your construction partner will contact you to answer any questions and help ensure your site is ready. If you're unsure of any requirements, take photos and ask your construction partner to review.

Step 3: Site survey appointment and visit

Once your site is ready, the construction partner will arrange a site visit, usually taking 30 to 90 minutes, with no disruption to your existing service. Schedule the appointment at a time that avoids business disruptions, and inform the partner of any site access requirements. On the day, ensure your site contact is present. The construction partner will arrive in standard safety gear, review the preferred location for the equipment, and agree on placement.

Step 4: Installation day

Your construction partner will prepare final designs and arrange a time to install the equipment. On installation day, provide site access and ensure your site contact is present. The partner will complete the installation, conduct any necessary construction activities, and perform on-site testing.

Step 5: Connection

Once the NBN equipment is installed, your service provider will contact you to complete any additional installation activities and confirm when your service is ready. Once ready, you can begin using your new Business NBN Enterprise Ethernet service. If you have further questions, speak to your chosen Enterprise Ethernet provider for more information.
